That's right. Your old TV will need a digital Freeview set top box so that it may continue to receive TV channels.

What kind of aerial do I need to receive "Freeview"?

Digital TV relies upon good clean signals and good aerial cabling.  You may need an aerial upgrade to make any freeview box work reliably in bad weather conditions. It is best to have a wideband rooftop aerial for the most reliable reception. Loft aerials are not recommended because the digital signal strength is reduced as is the signal quality. Loft aerials are also inside your home and will pick up electronic noise or interference caused by modern equipment used in most homes these days.

Apart from having an aerial, are there other ways for me to receive Digital TV and Radio?

- You could have a satellite dish installed with a non-contract/subscription free service such as the BBC/ITV freesat or sky TV subscription or non subscription services.
